GIVENCHY BY RICCARDO TISCI Spring/Summer 2012 Womenswear Collection
Riccardo Tisci is bringing lightness and a feeling of languid elegance to his Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Moving away from dark shades only, the general attitude is about softness
and sensuality. Riccardo Tisci is exploring a more romantic side than previous seasons. Yet the allure is sexy, effortlessly sophisticated, with a hint of masculine tension, all typical of French feminity.
Subtle influences from the waterworld are mixing surfers, mermaids and sea animals.
The sunset on the ocean gives way to a dégradé silver sequined pantsuit. Ocean waves inspire softly ruffled jackets, skirts and dresses. Sharper lines reveal a more graphic silhouette at times to enhance the woman's body.
Shark, eel, seawolf, salmon and stingray offer a new take on leather. Mat or shiny, their distinctive texture contrasts with delicate silk chiffon, cotton canvas, fluid jersey and light wool. Couture savoir-faire is required when fish scales are made of embroidered layered chiffon sequins or leather cut-outs.
Sportswear classics are twisted in a new way such as the cotton piqué polo shirt matched with hand-painted seawolf.
Pastels and neutrals ranges from pink, salmon, cream and beige to khaki. Black comes breaking the refined colour palette.
Chrome spike-heeled sandals echo giant shark tooth pendent combining gold and silver metal.
